Philips, Hiddink and the 1988 final

The club still plays at the Philips Stadion, and the electronics firm’s name sat on the front of the shirt for decades. PSV won the UEFA Cup in 1978, and ten years later Guus Hiddink’s side beat Benfica on penalties to win the European Cup in the same season as the league and cup. That team, and the strikers who came after it, made PSV a familiar name to British fans.

Umbro, Nike and Puma

The collection begins with home shirts from 1990-94, when the stripes were broad and the fit generous. Nike made the kit from the mid-90s into the 2010s, which gives the biggest group of shirts. Umbro returned for a spell after that, and Puma has the current deal. Away kits are numerous, and there are plenty of player issue tops for those who like the squad versions.

A line of number nines

Mateja Kezman’s shirts from 2000-02 are the most printed, from his prolific years in Eindhoven before he joined Chelsea. Ruud van Nistelrooy’s name also appears, along with Georginio Wijnaldum and a few younger players who left the academy for bigger leagues.

How the Nike shirts fit

Nike shirts from the early 2000s fit true to size, while the 90s home shirts are cut wide. Player issue tops are made to the squad spec and can run a little small. Every item shows its size and condition score.
