Swansea City retro shirts: the white of the Swans – page 4
Swansea have worn white for most of their history, and the Jack Army has seen a lot of it on big days at the Vetch and the Liberty. This page lists Swansea shirts from the climb to the Premier League onwards, plus away and third kits, keeper tops and training wear.
Wales’ first Premier League club
The Vetch Field closed in 2005 and the Swans moved across the city to the Liberty Stadium. Six years later they became the first Welsh club to play in the Premier League. The passing football of those seasons won them friends well beyond Wales. The high point came in 2013, when Michael Laudrup’s side beat Bradford City 5-0 at Wembley to lift the League Cup. Shirts from that period, with their adidas cut, are the ones many fans look for first.
Joma and the third kits
Joma took over the kit in 2016 and supplied it through several seasons, so their shirts make up the largest group on the page. Third kits are a speciality here. Swansea brought out one nearly every season, and they turn up in colours the home side never wears. Older Umbro pieces from the late 2000s are scarce but do appear.
Bony, James and Gallagher on the back
The most printed name is Wilfried Bony, whose shirts carry his first name above the number. Daniel James’s 2018-19 shirts in the number 20 are next, from the season before his move to Old Trafford. Conor Gallagher’s loan spell in 2019-20 has its own set, and there are also shirts for Leon Britton and other long-serving names.
Plenty of training gear
Training shirts, polos and track tops are numerous, many of them player issue items. They are worth a look if you want Swansea colours for five-a-side. Every listing shows size and a condition score.
