The 1987 FA Cup and Highfield Road
Coventry spent 34 years in the top flight from 1967, and the peak came at Wembley in 1987, when they beat Tottenham 3-2 to win the FA Cup. Shirts from that era are among the most sought-after on the page, Hummel designs with the chevrons and stripes of the time. Highfield Road was home until 2005, before the move to the north of the city.
Hummel, Puma and the away kits
The 1987-89 Hummel home and away shirts start the collection, along with an FA Cup final shirt. Away kits outnumber home ones, which suits collectors who like the odd colours a club tries when sky blue is ruled out. Puma shirts from the 2000s and 2010s fill the middle, and recent seasons bring third shirts and keeper kits.
Daish, McSheffrey and match issue shirts
The printed shirts lean towards players fans remember fondly. Liam Daish’s match issue shirts from the mid-90s are the main set, and Gary McSheffrey, an academy product who scored plenty for his home club, has 2012-13 shirts.
Roomy Hummel, slim modern
Older Hummel shirts can be roomy, while recent shirts are cut close to the body. If you want one for wearing rather than framing, pick a size by the measurements rather than the label. Each listing shows size and condition.
