Blackburn Rovers retro shirts: blue and white halves – page 2
Blackburn Rovers have worn blue and white halves for well over a century, and in 1995 that shirt won the Premier League. This page covers Rovers kits from the late 80s to now: home and away shirts, keeper tops, training wear and the prints of players who made Ewood Park famous.
Jack Walker’s champions
Backed by the steel man Jack Walker and managed by Kenny Dalglish, Rovers won the 1994-95 Premier League title. Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton scored the goals and Tim Flowers kept them out at the other end. Shirts from those seasons are the core of most Blackburn collections, and the 1994-95 home and away kits are both here. A title shirt from Ewood Park still carries real weight on any terrace in Lancashire.
Ellgren to Macron
The oldest shirts are from 1988-89, made by Ellgren. Asics designs follow in the 90s. Umbro supplied many of the later kits, and Macron makes the current shirt. Away kits are as common as home ones, so there is a wide choice of colours beyond the halves.
Shearer, Duff and Sukur
Alan Shearer and Damien Duff share top spot among the printed names. Duff’s shirts start with the 1996-98 kit and the number 32 from his first season, before he moved to number 11. David Dunn and Hakan Sukur, who spent a short spell at Ewood, are next, with Colin Hendry from the title side.
Big 90s cuts
Shirts from the title years are generous in size, so many fans go down one from their usual. Every listing shows its condition score, and the older shirts are worth checking for wear on the sponsor and badge.
