Sao Paulo retro shirts: the Morumbi tricolour – page 3

Sao Paulo’s white shirt with red and black hoops across the chest is one of the most distinctive in Brazil. Most of the shirts on this page are from the early 1990s, when the club were the best side in South America, but there are kits from every decade since.

Tele Santana and two world titles

Coached by Tele Santana and inspired by Rai, Sao Paulo won the Copa Libertadores in 1992 and 1993 and beat Barcelona and Milan to become world club champions both years. They won the Libertadores again in 2005 and then beat Liverpool in the Club World Cup final in Japan. The home ground is the Morumbi, one of the largest stadiums in Brazil. Shirts from those years are as close as a British fan gets to the club at its peak.

A collection built on the early 90s

The 1991 to 1994 home and away shirts are the heart of the list. Many have a number 10 on the back. Long-sleeve versions and a signed away shirt from 1992 are among them. The 2000s and 2010s bring Reebok and Topper training shirts, a centenary shirt and recent home and away kits.

Rogerio Ceni

A 2015 special goalkeeper shirt carries the name of Rogerio Ceni, the keeper who scored more than a hundred goals from free kicks and penalties. A 2024 away shirt is printed for Calleri.

Brazilian sizing

Brazilian shirts often run a size small, and shirts from the early 90s are shorter in the body than modern ones. Each item lists size and condition, so compare the measurements with a shirt you already own.
